Action Learning is a process that involves a small group working on real problems, taking action, and learning as individuals, as a team, and as an organization. It helps organizations develop creative, flexible and successful strategies to pressing problems. Action Learning involves a structured method enabling small groups to address complicated issues by meeting regularly and working collectively. This approach is especially geared to learning and personal development at the professional and managerial levels, and may include crisis response exercises. Our approach is to establish multiple action learning platforms that can enhance civil-military collaboration in response to complex emergencies with the aim of fostering greater organizational and community resilience.
The second component of the LEADS INSTITUTE approach focuses on developing inter-active courses, seminars, and workshops supported by individually tailored training modules that allow participants to learn by doing.
It may include but is not limited to skills training necessary to counter threats to border, maritime, cyber and energy security posed by hybrid warfare, terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime and illicit trafficking, as well as planning for and providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR).
